Colt's New Service Revolver

In production from 1898 to 1941

Details for the New Service Colt revolver can be found in the link above.

The Pre-WW2 Colt factory boxes for the 'New Service' Revolver are dark maroon or blackish in color.  Special-feature labels, caliber, barrel type and length will vary on the end of the box.  Given the large size and weight of these revolvers, the boxes are larger than more common Colt box sizes.  Serial numbers were typically hand-written on the bottom of the box in pencil.  There are existing military models of this revolver and for those the box labels may vary.

The condition will vary greatly, but all are of interest even if the box is split or damaged.  Digital photos are the best way to determine condition and estimate value.  Some boxes are more common and others are more rare.  Prices will vary depending on rarity, caliber, and condition.
