The major cartridge (ammunition) players during the first half of the 1900's were:Peters, UMC, US, Western, Remington, Frankford, and Winchester
This collection of boxes was started from a 1930's Colt catalog and reflects some of the ammo that would have been available during this period for Colt double-action revolvers and target pistols, such as the
Colt Police Positive Colt and Target revolvers
The (gr.) 'grain' weight is the indication of the lead bullet size. Box images are reduced or expanded in size for display purposes.
Boxes are no longer being collected by this collector. |
Cartridges in Colt 1933 (left) and 1941 (right) catalogs with the revolvers they fit.
Also note, that the display for each revolver in the catalog shows a detailed list
of other ammo which will fit for a given Colt revolver caliber.
